A structured flap-over crossbody bag where the most honest material choice is the one you see from the side. Two full panels of solid wood form the entire side walls of the bag, the grain running clean and uninterrupted from top edge to base. The Crest does not use wood as trim or as accent. It uses wood as structure. Everything else follows.
The body and flap are crafted in hand-tumbled vegan leather with a soft natural grain. At the centre of the flap, a hand-finished wood plaque with brass studs at each corner serves as the sole closure element. A leather tab from the body of the bag loops underneath the plaque and holds the flap shut with the satisfying simplicity of something that needs no clasp, no magnetic catch, no mechanism to explain.
The adjustable strap runs through small hand-carved wood ring adjusters. The detail most people notice second, once they have turned the bag around.
